That’s right, Maurice and friends came to the old Yarn Circle location for a shearing. Martha and Pam had decided that Maurice needed his summer shearing before we moved to our new location. But Maurice didn’t think he needed to get sheared. Martha invited shearers Bill and Ned to come and do the honors. Each year they come all the way from Australia to shear Martha’s sheep as well as a few extra sheep in the area. Maurice invited some of his sheepy friends to Yarn Circle thinking that Bill and Ned would forget he was there and not get sheared. So as soon as Bill and Ned started on the other sheep, Maurice hid in Bill’s old truck. But, Jan,  Bills wife didn’t let Maurice pull the wool over her eyes and found Maurice hiding in the truck. We all had so much fun seeing sheep at Yarn Circle we are thinking about having a more organized shearing there next year! Watch for more details.

Angora Bunnies for Sale by Martha Owen

RedoMOandBunny

What a job trying to get a bunny and Martha to smile at the same time!

RedoBunny2

Angora bunnies, yep, so soft, so cute and so, so fluffy, and looking for a home. They’re young and most adorable. Rabbits are litter box trainable and will stay on your porch or in the house. Mine, however, are inmates: I have always intended to make a pen for them so that they could form a community but it would take lots of excavation on our rocky hill top and so I doubt that is going to happen here. So, though they’re in cages, they do live in a rabbit palace, under a good shady tree, getting treats of orange and apple peel, pineapple and banana. Regular fare includes water, hay and pellets. It’s been fun raising my own luxury fiber for luxury yarns and the manure is very useful too. From registered stock. $50 per cute, soft bunny! Bunnies birthday was May 2, 2006.
